how we can help....We understand that not everyone needs the same kind of help so the first thing to do is talk! Talking is good! Tell us what is on your mind. We will listen to you. We won't tell you what to do. We won't judge you. We will talk about what you want to do. You make all your own choices. Ok? We can help by listening to what you want to say then discussing your situation. We can help you find out your rights. We can advise on things like claiming benefits, finding somewhere to live, getting a job, filling out forms, writing letters, education, and other concerns you might have. We can support and give information about drugs problems to you, your family or friends or anyone who is concerned about drug use. We can offer counselling to young people and their family or friends. We can offer support and advice if you have a criminal record and are trying to get your life together. If you can get to our drop-in centre we can help with food, bedding, travel, and other things you might need. If you can't get to us, we may know someone in your area who can help. We can talk to other people for you if you don't feel able to talk yourself. You may need help to understand what others tell you. Tell us in your own words and we will help you to talk to others. This is called advocacy. How do you feel right now? You may feel unhappy or lonely, angry or frustrated. Worried about something? Would you like to talk about it? We can be a friend to listen when you want to talk about something that concerns you. Anything at all, no matter how silly it might feel or how bad. We will listen to you. Perhaps you feel very happy about something and just have to tell someone. Give us a call, we would love to hear from you. Everything you say to us is confidential. We don't need to know your name or address or phone number. |
